The two superb beaches, “Koukounaries” and “Maratha”, which embrace the largest hotel complex of Thessalia on Skiathos, are beaches that have been awarded the 2020 Blue Flag Award. It is worth mentioning that Maratha beach was awarded this year for the eleventh year consecutively and is one of the few beaches in Thessalia whose participation in the “Blue Flag” program was a result of a personal initiative. Maratha beach is organized and managed by the Skiathos Palace, providing all the necessary services and infrastructure as required by the 33 stringent “Blue Flag” Program criteria such as, the quality of the swimming water, cleanliness, environmental training-information-management, environmental protection of the beach area and the protection of the guests.
