Since Skiathos became a global VIP destination a lot of special guests have been choosing this island for their vacation. Likewise, the royal family of Jordan visited Skiathos to have a few days of relaxation in the green paradise island. One of the best thing about the Sporades islands in comparison to the famous partying Cyclades islands is that VIP tourists can remain unnoticed. The royal family of Jordan were discreate themselves and managed to have a quiet vacation without anyone getting in their way. According to the local newspaper "Taxydromos" the royal family sailed in a 25 meter catamaran and it is not clear whether the King of Jordan Abdala and Queen Rania accompanied the rest of the crew, or if their children were vacationing on their own. The family stayed in Skiathos for two days and enjoyed the sun, the sea and especially the food. All ten members of the entourage tried local seafood in a traditional seaside taverna, without making any special requests from the stuff. The restaurant owner, mr. Dimos Kavouris said they were very pleasant, kind and discrete people without any wish to showcase their wealth or power. They arrived and left by taxi, which transfered them back to their yatch. Everybody who saw them talks about a gentle and down to earth family, and were very impressed with their simplicity and humbleness.
